Rund um den Kalkstein

Von St. Johann in Tirol / Bike Nature geht es über Oberhofen entlang des Flugplatzes zu den Bauerngehöften der Winkl-Sonnseite und nach einigem auf und ab erreichen wir Fieberbrunn. Von Fieberbrunn aus, fahren wir über Obwall nach St. Jakob in Haus. Nach einem Wechsel der Talseite geht es zum Einstieg der Sesselbahn auf die Buchensteinwand, wo sich das bekannte Jakobskreuz befindet. Weiter radeln wir durch idyllische Weiler bis zum Ortskern St. Ulrich am Pillersee. Entlang des rechten Seeufers fahren wir auf einem breiten Weg nach St. Adolari mit dem bekannten Wallfahrtskirchlein. Der Radweg führt zur wild-romantischen Öfenschlucht, einem durch die einzigartigen Steinformationen ausgezeichnetem Naturdenkmal. Über die Pillersee-Landesstraße gelangen wir in das Ortszentrum von Waidring. Von hier aus fahren wir entlang des Radweges bis nach Erpfendorf. Nach einem kurzen Stück auf der Dorfstraße – vorbei an der bekannten Clemens-Holzmeister-Kirche – mündet die Tour wieder auf den Radweg an der Großache. Diesem Weg folgend, fahren wir vorbei an Kirchdorf in Tirol bis wir wieder zurück nach St. Johann in Tirol kommen.

Around the Limestone

From St. Johann in Tirol we bike next to Oberhofen along the airfield to the peasant farmsteads of Winkl Sonnseite and after some up and down we reach Fieberbrunn. From Fieberbrunn we drive over Obwall to St. Jakob in Haus. After changing the side of the valley we bike further to the start of the chairlift at Buchensteinwand, where the famous Pilgrim’s cross is located. We continue cycling through the idyllic hamlet up to the village centre of St. Ulrich am Pillersee. On a wide path along the right shore of the lake, we’re going to St. Adolari with the known Pilgrimage Church. The route leads to the wildly romantic Öfenschlucht, one of the unique stone formations excellent natural monument. We go through the Pillersee road in the centre of Waidring. From here we drive along the bike path to Erpfendorf. After a short stretch on the village road – passing on the Clemens-Holzmeister-Church the tour join again on the bike path on the river Großache. Following this path we will pass Kirchdorf in Tirol until we come back again to St. Johann in Tirol.
